Bishop Satterlee at St. Paul!

Pastor Shirley Ross-Jones and the St. Paul Lutheran Community recently welcomed Bishop Craig Satterlee, of the NWLM Synod. Bishop Satterlee took part in a number of different activities.

He preached and presided at both St. Paul’s week end services. On Sunday he took part in the “The Way of the Cross, Towards Peace and Justice.” Alpena has Peace Poles at various locations around town, and last Sunday prayers and reflections were offered at six of the Poles. Bishop Satterlee offered a reflection at St. Paul’s Peace Pole. This event was sponsored by the Alpena Peace Coalition and in cooperation with the Alpena Faith Community.

On Monday he also took part in an Evensong/Chrism Service, where he again preached and presided. During this service there was a “Renewal of Ordination and Consecration Vows” for rostered leaders.  It was a full week end, but one filled with worship, prayers, reflections, and fellowship.
