“Do not put your trust in princes, in mortals, in whom there is no help. . . . Happy are those whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord their God.” Psalm 146: 3 & 5
As members of the society in which we live, we are expected to follow the rules and laws of that society, or we may have to face the consequences. Things like following the speed limit just makes it safer and better for everyone. Good order is needed for things to flow on a daily basis.
However, what this scripture seems to be noting is that we shouldn’t put our complete trust in rulers or humans that are just as fallible as we are. Our complete hope about the future now and in the time to come, ought to be in the Lord God. May your spiritual pilgrimage allow you to daily trust more in this hope. Blessings of your walk!
